Isaac's 3rd birthday party

Isaac received the "Big Buzz" Lightyear that he has been asking for since we went to Disney Land in February. He has never loved a toy more.

Mommy: "Isaac, what are you doing?"

THREE THREE THREE

I sure love this little green eyed monster and even though he has been saying for months that he is three, it's hard to believe it's really true. He's a smart, articulate, little squirt that keeps us laughing and on our toes.

SNOW!

Yesterday it was 70 degrees (PERFECT FOR HALLOWEEN!). Today 35 degrees and snowy. Welcome to Utah. I decided to get Isaac and Mara out of the house and we headed for the library. Isaac was THRILLED with the snow on the ground. He walked right into it, bent over and touched it and said "Teee heee... I like this!!!"

Speaking of the library... we picked out 5 books for him. I read them before his nap. When he woke up I walked into his room and the first thing out of his mouth was, "I'm awake and those are awful books. I want to take them back to the library and not buy them."

POLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!

 

First soccer game of the season.. Charlie was going for a goal but instead ran into the POLLLLLLLLE!!! He's okay. Just a headache and a sweet shiner.  I actually missed the incident because I was playing with the macro button on my camera (see below).

Summer was different this year with the arrival of Mara and having Greg home every day. It went by too fast but it's nice to get back into a routine with school and extra curricular activities.

Naptime

Fun Run.. you know, for kids!

Last Saturday we participated in our second annual Novell's Fun Run for kids. Apparently I didn't blog about it last year. Shocker.  I sat out of this one due to the fact that I'm having a baby next week. Greg ran the 5K though!


Isaac's pre-race jitters

Isaac was awesome. He was so excited to run but I snapped this shot just before his 100 meter race.  After the race, he kept begging to run again and again.  Even at bed time he said, "I want to race!"  He had a great time and came in first place for boys ages 0-2.  He was terrified of being on the podium on top of the platform but pulled it together for a classic shot. I love his enormous t-shirt.

I apologize for my extremely loud, high pitch voice while filming.. I was into it (seriously - you'll want to turn the volume down before viewing).

The progression of these photos make me laugh. Greg was not loving looking into the sun and suggested I take it at an angle:

Jack's run was a 1/2 mile total, up quite a steep hill, twice. The poor kid got tripped up by another kid who was confused that he had to run the track twice. I was proud that Jack kept going and finished his race.

Charlie came in first for boys in his age group too. (There's always a long legged girl he can't ever seem to pass.)

It was, indeed, a fun run. Way to go, men!

A proud moment in parenting

Finally, one of our children has discovered how to roll his tongue.

Ike is looking more and more like a boy and less like a baby. How lucky is a kid to have two dimples?!!

Biggest smile ever!

Greg gets the award for capturing Isaac's biggest smile ever.
Ike is 19 1/2 months old now. He. is. a. handful.
One of his favorite things to do is to take off running across an open field or park while yelling "'un, 'un, 'un!". I try to wait to see if he's ever going to look back before running to catch him but I can never wait that long.
He's almost always happy.
He talks a lot. Today, he discovered the word "flip flop" and giggled every time he or the boys said it. There are two words that he says that are my very favorite. "GROSS!" which he nails perfectly with various inflections. "Geeess" is kiss but said with a deep Antonio Banderas accent.
He is a good eater and has been known to out eat Charlie and Jack on occasion. But when he is done, he's done and if you leave him in his highchair a minute to long he will dump the remaining contents of his bowl, plate, and cup on top of his head. This he finds hilarious.
He does not know his animal sounds. He thinks everything should "meooooow" like a kitty. He calls ants and horses "Goggies".
He recently discovered how to change the channel with the remote control. Not by pushing the buttons though (that's old news) but by using it to physically push the buttons on the front of the TV much to the dismay of his brothers. His other favorite thing is to shake peoples' hands at church. After about 45 minutes, he has had enough of the meeting. He hops off my lap and starts walking down the isle shaking hands of those on the end of each row then those of the people sitting along the whole back bench on his way to the door. Needless to say, he has a lot of fans at church especially among the grandmas whom he flirts with endlessly.

Isaac loves bubbles and so should you.

Greg's sister caught Isaac in action being a bit of a bully. I think he really thought Emma wanted a huge pile of wet bubbles on her head.
It's just too cute.

No poblano... yet.

I finally started some pepper plants for my salsa garden. I'll have Greg make you the best salsa in 75-90 days, give or take.

And while I worked on this little project, Ike cleaned out my kitchen cupboards for me.

Makes you sort of wonder what he's doing while I blog this.

Budda gets his moves from his Mama

I actually give credit to all of the Zumba classes he's attended (before he was mobile). He even does air drums - which has always been my air-instrument of choice.

Ike also likes to dance with his friends (even though it appears to initially frighten them a bit).

My third kid and this is the closest I've come and it's not even noticable.

How old are you, Isaac?

I love this guy and he loves french fries and impromptu birthday lunches with Grandpa at Chadder's. He loves being chased by his dad, dancing (even if it's to the sound of a nearby car alarm), saying "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" to people outside, and the "roll it, roll it" part to Patty Cake. He loves crawling all over his brothers when they are kind enough to lay on the floor. His thighs? Still quite chunky. He weighed in at 24.5 pounds this morning (before the french fries). See those teeth? Watch out, he bites. Toes are his favorite. His eyes are green. He gives great big hugs when you pick him up after a nap... which usually end with a bite to the shoulder or collar bone or even your cheek.

Dance, baby

Isaac's favorite thing is Greg's phone. He yells at it until someone turns the music on for him. Then he cries and cries when someone takes it away.

For. The. Love.

Boot Camp

Isaac finally decided to climb the stairs yesterday.
So, today, we're doing a sliding-down-the-stairs boot camp.
