Last year, Jack was just 6 months old at Easter time... so I held him during the hunt last year (it was raining & muddy & he really didn't move much anyway).
The weather today is BEAUTIFUL! Sunny & warm - a perfect Spring day.
At 10am we met at the church pavilion for a Primary Easter Egg Hunt. Charlie kept saying to Shayna, who was running the activity, "Did you say GO! yet???" He was SO excited to start looking for eggs in the grass.
When she finally did say GO! All of the kids took off through the big field. Jack just stood there enjoying the other kids run frantically around. I led Jack to a bright blue plastic egg in the grass & pointed it out to him. He obediently picked it up & put it in his bunny pail. I walked him a little further & pointed out a pink one to him. He knew just what to do. He bent over, scooped it up, & plopped it in his bucket. At which point it broke open spilling out jelly beans and gummy bunnies. He yelled, "LOOK!" and started shoving candy into his mouth as fast as he could. He demolished it in no time & started working on his first egg which he realized must also have candy in it. He stood in the same spot in the middle of the field for 10 minutes just chomping away on his goodies. Two eggs. That's all he needed. Until, of course, the hunt was over, then he harassed Charlie constantly for his candy, which he patiently shared.
Shayna brought a little brown bunny for all of the kids to play with. They also decorated Easter eggs & had fun running around with their little friends. It was a great Easter Egg Hunt.
